M-2113 - Junior Researcher in the field of atmospheric plasma process deposition
Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. By transforming scientific knowledge into technologies, smart data and tools, LIST empowers citizens in their choices, public authorities in their decisions and businesses in their strategies.
You ‘d like to contribute as a researcher? Join our Materials Research and Technology department
Through its research into advanced materials and processes, the “Materials Research and Technology” (MRT) department, with its 200 researchers and engineers, contributes to the emergence of enabling technologies that underpin the innovation processes of local and international industry. MRT’s activities hinge on four thematic pillars: nanomaterials and nanotechnology, scientific instrumentation and process technology, structural composites, and functional polymers.
The department also includes four high-tech platforms, focusing on composites, prototyping, characterization and testing. These platforms serve both LIST research staff, and other stakeholders in Luxembourg.
How will you contribute?
The researcher will be integrated into the Scientific Instrumentation and Process Technology (SIPT) RDI unit of the MRT Department) and he will be hosted in the Plasma Process Engineering (PPE) group. This research group develops fundamental and technological expertise in the area of process engineering for advanced surfaces coatings. The group focuses on its recognized expertise in Research and Development of both thermal and plasma surface modification for the synthesis of functional polymer thin films, functional inorganic coatings, or functional/smart surfaces.
The junior researcher will participate in the research and development activities of collaborative projects with industrial partners, she/he will more particularly work on research activities in the field of process development and film synthesis for adhesion promotor by atmospheric plasma CVD. The activities will be conducted at the laboratory level but support can be mandated at the end of project for an industrial transfer. For example, she/he will perform R&D activities to synthesize new adhesion promotors for metal-epoxy support for electronic applications.
The candidate will be recruited as Junior R&T Associate and she/he will conduct research, development and innovation under the responsibility of the Project Investigator. She/he will hierarchically report to the group leader. As a researcher you will contribute to the RDI work like providing state of the art work related to a given research thematic or technology / perform systematic literature review and collaborate with other researchers in order to promote interdisciplinary activities internally. Your support will be required for project management activities. You will contribute to dissemination, valorisation and transfer, in working on patents, licences, prototypes, publications, technical reports, participation in conferences
