The IT for Innovative Services (ITIS) department, with its 100 researchers and engineers, focuses on the digital transformation of operations in organizations with traditional environments and digital ecosystems, with the aim of improving their performance and innovation capacity. The common thread throughout ITIS is to develop the most efficient use of big data to ensure the most appropriate decision-making processes.

The department relies on the Data Analytics Platform: a hybrid infrastructure covering the entire range of data analytics activities. The platform is based on three pillars: a high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, a cognitive analytics pillar and an interactive visualization wall (Viswall).



How will you contribute?

We are looking for an IoT Edge Architect to join a versatile and dynamic team of researchers working on innovative solutions and architectures intersecting cloud/edge computing and networking, mobile applications, and Internet of Things. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting researchers in developing proof-of-concepts and producing scalable system software architectures targeting the Edge computing and networking ecosystem.

You will be mainly in charge of:

  • Leading the prototyping activities of the EDGE research group
  • Resolve IoT integration problems in complex cross-platform environments
  • Ensure that clear, accurate systems documentation is created and managed
  • Analyse and assist in the design of architecture of IoT based solutions and their associated software/components
  • Ensure that the technological choices are coherent

You hold a Master's degree in IT with a specialization in IoT and/or Cloud Services and/or Signals & Images processing.

You have experience and skills in:

  • System architecture
  • Cloud Computing and Services
  • Communication protocols knowledge (SigFox, Lorawan, wifi, MQTT, etc.)
  • Knowledge of embedded operating systems and Software Defined Radio (SDR)
  • Programming experience with Python, Java, C/C++
  • Knowledge in architecture modeling language (UMP, ADL) and associated tools
  • Fiware context broker and environment
  • Basic knowledge of IT security.

You also have a good level of English, both written and spoken.

nice to have requirements

Furthermore,  Knowledge of edge solutions (Intel OpenNESS, ETSI MEC Sandbox, Kubernetes), Knowledge of digital twin architecture and solutions (Fiware) and Web development skills are considered as an asset.

Finally, French or German will be seen as an advantage.
