You'd like to contribute as an intern? Join our Environmental Research and Innovation department

The Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN) department, made up of 200 life science, environmental science and information technology researchers and engineers, provides the interdisciplinary knowledge, expertise and technologies to lead solutions including the major environmental challenges facing society, such as climate change mitigation, ecosystem resilience, sustainable energy systems, efficient use of renewable resources, and environmental pollution prevention and control.

The department relies on two cutting-edge platforms, the Biotechnologies and Environmental Analytics Platform and the Observatory for the Climate and the Environment, and the GreenTech Innovation Centre (GTIC): a one-stop-shop for the complete development of bio-based products and processes.

How will you contribute?

We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Data Validation Intern to join our team. As an Environmental Data Validation Intern, you will be responsible for developing a Python script to validate environmental time series data.

One of the aims of the platform is to develop a fully-fledged environmental assessment framework where various measurement and monitoring approaches are integrated. With this structured information on environmental conditions across the country, the platform provides strategic inputs to environmental research and supports key policy-making processes where Luxembourg has legal obligations at national and European level.

You will mainly focus on developing a script to facilitate the climate data quality control processing chain. More specifically:

  • Collaborating with the data management team to understand the structure of the environmental time series data
  • Developing a Python script to validate the environmental time series data
  • Contributing to the development of the quality control process automation for the environmental data
