Touring Club Schweiz (TCS) is Switzerland's leading mobility organization dedicated to ensuring that its members have a safe and pleasant travel experience. With a keen focus on cycling, TCS promotes bike safety through a variety of initiatives. From providing real-time traffic warnings to road assistance for bikers, TCS plays a pivotal role in enhancing the biking experience in Switzerland.

Your challenges during the Internship

In this 6-months internship, you will work on a project aimed at collecting data on bike roads and rating them in terms of safety. The goal is to create a TCS community-driven platform, akin to Komoot, but tailored for urban cyclists. You will be able to profit from our and our partner Traffic data sets to start with.

• Gather and analyze data on city bike roads
• Develop algorithms to rate roads based on safety metrics
• Collaborate with the cycling community for data validation and feedback
• Enhance the platform based on user feedback and safety updates
• Work through the design thinking, create prototypes and test those
• Define the technical solution
• Develop a user-friendly interface for self-diagnosis
• Collaborate with mechanics to validate the diagnostic tool
• Test the tool and gather user feedback for improvements
• Create a user Application as your MVP 

This will help you get started

• You should be a bike enthusiast who knows your way around the Urban area with a bike
• Know-how of design thinking
• Software engineering and programming
• Interest AI and Data Science in General
• Strong proficiency in English; knowledge of German and/or French advantageous
