How will you contribute?

Mixed reality technologies can transform the work of those involved in civil protection, defence, entertainment or healthcare.

This job involves working with external partners to improve the design and human-factors aspects of mixed reality technologies.

A particular emphasis will be on human-centric approaches ranging from methodologies to improve the design and user testing, through the implementation of novel interface user interface techniques which in some cases may combine real world and virtual objects.

You will have the opportunity to work with private companies and state actors, and will be expected to lead tasks and co-ordinate aspects relating to the user interface design, requirements capture and technical analysis.

You will also be expected to explore these areas from the point of view of developing research prototypes.

A key part of the work will be to develop UX methodologies for the design and development of mixed realty technologies in particular when these also involve immersive data visualisation and safety critical situations.

Education

·       PhD in areas related to mixed reality


Experience and skills

·       Worked in using/development mixed reality in areas such as civil protection, defence, healthcare and/or entertainment 

·       Undertaking user studies 

·       Publications in mixed reality related areas

·       Some software development experience, in particular for mixed reality using Unity also with preferred experience of working with UWB tracking technologies

·       Grant writing experience (optional)

Language skills

·       Excellent level of both written and spoken English.
