Permanent contract | Fulltime/40h | Belval

Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. By transforming scientific knowledge into technologies, smart data and tools, LIST empowers citizens in their choices, public authorities in their decisions and businesses in their strategies.

Do you want to know more about LIST? Check our website: https://www.list.lu/

Discover our Materials department: https://www.list.lu/en/materials/

You will be part of the Scientific Instrumentation and Process Technology (SIPT) unit which is focusing its RDI activities on new instrumentation, processes and methodologies in the fields of nano-analytics and thin film processing. The RDI chain of the SIPT unit spans from fundamental science all the way up to industrial scale demonstrators. Particularly, the researcher will be integrated into the Advanced Instrumentation for Nano-Analytics (AINA) group (https://www.list.lu/en/materials/scientific-instrumentation-and-process-technology/group/advanced-instrumentation-for-nano-analytics/). The AINA group focuses on the development of scientific instruments based on charged particle beams and laser beams and correlative workflows taking advantage of these instruments. The group’s R&D activity covers fundamental investigations, instrument development and application development. We are a multi-disciplinary team giving the group the complete spectrum of know-how that is required to convert innovative ideas and concepts into prototype instruments.

How will you contribute?

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conceptualizing and developing novel laser-based techniques (both linear and non-linear) for diagnostics of all states of matter, as well as for particle manipulation;
  • Elaborating and testing novel scientific and technological concepts for nano-analytical techniques based on laser technologies;
  • Defining and leading new project activities in this field, including writing and submitting proposals for competitive funding and collaborating with industrial partners such as instrument manufacturers;
  • Actively collaborating with other researchers in order to promote interdisciplinary activities internally and externally;
  • Mentoring post-doc researchers and PhD students participating in these projects;
  •  Disseminating, valorising and transferring RDI results (patents, licenses, prototypes, publications, technical reports, participation in conferences, etc.);
  • Participating in the management of the group’s laboratories and taking charge of some of the group’s instruments, including fulfilling the equipment quality and compliance follow-up and training the users;
  • Reporting to the group leader.

Is Your profile described below? Are you our future colleague? Apply now!
