How will you contribute?

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with optimisation experts who are applying innovative optimisation techniques across many domains including logistics, manufacturing and supply chain management. One of the main objectives of our team is to support organizations to significantly improve their decision process through the use of state-of-the-art decision making and multi-objective optimization methods and tools. By working with us, you will be able to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optimisation techniques, and also have the opportunity to expand your professional network by collaborating with other researchers, institutions and industry partners.

You will be able to:

·      Lead and contribute to RDI projects and work in the development of new knowledge, technology components, prototype design, etc. oriented by clients’ needs.

·      Formulate innovative scientific and technological concepts and write corresponding proposals for funding applications.

·      Manage the daily research work allowing the smooth progress of the projects (write technical reports, make presentations at workshops, produce scientific publications, including as first author)

·      Actively collaborate with other researchers in order to promote interdisciplinary activities internally and externally.

·      Participate in mentoring and training of Junior R&T Associates and undergraduates/trainees and supervise or co-supervise PhD students.

·      Be responsible for the realisation of deliverables in the expected time frame.

·      Disseminate, valorise and transfer RDI results (patents, licences, prototypes, publications, technical reports, participation in conferences)

·      Develop scientific and technological networks.

Education:

  • PhD degree on Computer Science/Engineering or Applied Mathematics.


Required experience and skills:

  • Strong background in optimisation theory, algorithms and numerical methods.
  • Knowledge of multi-disciplinary optimization, multi-fidelity optimization and uncertainty quantification is a strong asset.
  • Experience in programming languages.
  • Experience with optimization software tools or packages.
  • Grant writing skills and ability to communicate research ideas effectively.
  • Clear understanding of the grant proposal submission process
  • Sound publication track record in relevant international conferences and journals.
  • Ability to present research findings in a clear and concise manner through reports, presentations, and scientific papers.
  • Experience in managing research projects, including planning, organizing, and coordinating research activities within specified timelines. Ability to prioritize tasks, set milestones, and monitor progress.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and industry experts.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English is mandatory.


Nice to have experience:

  • Experience in writing successful grant proposals.
  • Familiarity with the different type of funding agencies (FNR, Horizon Europe, etc) and their specific requirements.
  • Experience on defining project proposals budget.
  • Experience on working with industrial projects or public funded research.
