How will you contribute?

You will be mainly in charge of:

Developing thermoplastic elastomer compounds with excellent processability for additive manufacturing
Compounding thermoplastic composites and blends in internal mixers and twin-screw extruders
Performing material extrusion additive manufacturing trials of thermoplastic elastomers
Evaluating the thermal characteristics of thermoplastics by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry
Studying polymer crystallinity results from X-ray scattering techniques and morphology studies using microscopy
Performing rheological tests and evaluating the results of thermoplastic materials
Evaluating the dimensional accuracy and mechanical performance of 3d printed specimens
Evaluating the shape memory effect of the developed thermoplastic compounds
Preparing project deliverables and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and conferences
Participating in project meetings and international conferences

Education

PhD degree in Polymer Engineering and Science, Materials Engineering and Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields

Experience and skills

Proven professional experience in additive manufacturing of polymer-based materials
Good knowledge of rheology and thermo-mechanical characterisation of polymers
Good knowledge of compounding of thermoplastic composites and blends
Knowledge of 4D printing concepts and techniques
Excellent team player and good communication skills

Language skills

Good level of both written and spoken English (C1)
