How will you contribute?

You will be mainly in charge of:

·         the fabrication of polymer multilayer capacitors, employing a technique that is well mastered at LIST. We focus on developing copolymer and terpolymer polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) films with various compositions to enhance their performance characteristics

·         undertaking the characterization of these materials to assess their electrocaloric effect, once the PVDF multilayers are successfully fabricated

·         utilizing a range of advanced equipment including our state-of-the-art infrared camera, which allows for precise thermal imaging, and differential scanning calorimetry, a technique that measures heat flow associated with phase transitions in the materials.

·         gaining hands-on experience with the Aixacct characterization equipment, which is specifically designed for dielectric and ferroelectric measurements

·         focusing on optimizing the fabrication process of the polymer films. This optimization is aimed at achieving improved electrocaloric performance, thereby contributing to the advancement of sustainable cooling technologies.
