The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. We are currently offering an internship opportunity to support a research project aimed at assessing the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) training on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Luxembourg. The study is designed to measure how AI training initiatives influence skill and competence development within SMEs, with a focus on aligning outcomes with the European Skills, Competences, Qualifications, and Occupations (ESCO) framework.
How will you contribute?
As an intern in this project, you will be part of a team dedicated to understanding the current state of AI training offerings for SMEs, organizing data collection events, and analyzing the resulting data to gauge the effectiveness of these initiatives. Your work will contribute to identifying gaps, needs, and actionable recommendations for future AI training development within Luxembourg’s SME sector.
You will be mainly in charge of:
· Conducting a review of available AI training programs aimed at SMEs within Luxembourg.
· Identifying relevant programs, compile information, and evaluate their alignment with SMEs needs.
· Mapping existing training programs to the ESCO framework to assess the competencies and skills they address.
· Organizing and coordinating workshops and interviews with SME representatives to collect qualitative and quantitative data on training impact.
· Collaborating with LIST researchers and SME stakeholders to ensure productive and informative data collection.
· Analysing data collected from workshops and interviews, focusing on the impact of AI training on skills and competencies.
· Mapping findings to ESCO to provide a structured view of competencies impacted by AI training.
· Preparing a written report detailing findings, insights, and recommendations for enhancing AI training for SMEs in Luxembourg.
· Formulating practical recommendations for improving the relevance and impact of AI training based on data-driven insights

Education
· Bachelor or Master in fields related to social sciences, business, data science, or education technology.[MG1]
Experience and skills
· Familiarity with AI and its applications in business is a plus.
· Strong organizational skills, especially in coordinating events like workshops and interviews.
· Proficiency in data analysis and reporting; experience with ESCO or competency frameworks is an asset.
Language skills
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English (knowledge of French, German, or Luxembourgish is an advantage).
