INT-2514 – INTERNSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE TEXTILES
Internship contract – 6 months | Fulltime/40h | From 01.04.2021 on | Belval
Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. By transforming scientific knowledge into technologies, smart data and tools, LIST empowers citizens in their choices, public authorities in their decisions and businesses in their strategies.
How will you contribute?
The internship will focus on the synthesis of novel vitrimers for application in textiles. The trainee will work on the preparation of new precursors and their molecular, thermal, and mechanical characterization. Once a suitable molecule will be identified, it will be tested as a component in textile assemblies, and the properties of the resulting materials will be evaluated.
· Synthesis of New Precursors: Design and preparation of novel vitrimer precursors tailored for textile applications.
· Characterization of Materials: Perform molecular, thermal, and mechanical analyses to evaluate the properties of the synthesized precursors.
· Integration into Textiles: Test the selected molecule as a component in textile assemblies.
· Performance Evaluation: Assess the properties of the resulting textile materials, including durability, flexibility, and other relevant characteristics.
· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to the preparation of a final report or presentation summarizing findings and recommendations.
