How will you contribute?


The Head of IT Infrastructure manages and oversees the company's IT infrastructure team and ensures that all infrastructure components function optimally to support business processes. This role requires a solid technical foundation in infrastructure management, effective team leadership, and a proactive approach to addressing the evolving needs of the business. The Head of IT Infrastructure will focus on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure solutions. This individual is tasked with maintaining the highest system performance and availability levels while driving continuous improvements in infrastructure processes and service delivery.

In this role, the Head of IT Infrastructure is expected to work closely with the broader IT leadership team, contributing to the overall IT strategy and coordinating efforts to fulfil the infrastructure needs of the enterprise effectively.

This position requires candidates who can effectively balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise in systems, networks, and IT architecture to drive optimal infrastructure performance and innovation within the organisation.


 You will be mainly in charge of:

  • Develop and execute an infrastructure strategy that aligns with the organisation's IT and business strategies. Oversee the implementation of infrastructure projects and initiatives that improve operational efficiency and support business growth
  • Lead and manage the IT infrastructure team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to team members
  • Oversee the management of all IT infrastructure components, including on-premise data centres, public cloud environments, networking equipment, and server management (Linux and Windows). Ensure robust infrastructure performance, availability, and security
  • Manage and optimize multi-cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration and performance across diverse cloud service providers
  • Ensure the design, deployment, and management of network and telecom solutions align with current and future business requirements. Lead initiatives to enhance network security and performance
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure infrastructure complies with security standards and practices, including involvement in network security improvement projects
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and provide recommendations on their potential application within the organization. Champion the integration of innovative solutions that high-performance computing, data analytics, and visualization platforms
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure infrastructure service delivery meets defined service levels. Identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency
  • Ensure infrastructure services and solutions comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the development of infrastructure governance processes and technology standards

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft, or cloud and containerisation certifications) is a plus

Experience and skills

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in IT infrastructure management, including hands-on experience in system and network management.
  • A proven track record of leading and managing high-performing technology teams
  • Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience managing and configuring Linux and Windows server environments, including virtual and physical servers
  • Proven experience with network management, including design, deployment, and troubleshooting of networking solutions, strongly emphasising Cisco devices and network security tools
  • Expertise in multi-cloud environments, with experience in configuring and optimising cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
  • Proficiency in containerisation technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes, for orchestrating and managing containerised applications
  • Experience with distributed file systems for handling large-scale data storage and processing
  • Hands-on experience in IT architecture, including designing scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions aligned with business needs
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing an IT infrastructure team
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and innovative team culture while providing coaching and professional development to team members
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities to align infrastructure initiatives with business goals
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex infrastructure issues and drive effective solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently
  • Experience in leading infrastructure projects from inception through successful completion within scope, time, and budget constraints.
  • Experience in vendor negotiation and management, ensuring infrastructure solutions remain cost-effective and aligned with business needs
  • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing infrastructure improvements and innovations
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying current with technology trends and integrating emerging technologies into the infrastructure landscape
  • Understanding of compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements related to IT infrastructure and services.
  • Experience in developing and enforcing infrastructure policies and standards to ensure reliability and security


Language skills

  • Good level both written and spoken English and French
