How will you contribute?
As a Funding Specialist for EU funding programs, you will be part of our international team at LIST in Luxembourg. We are looking for an experienced European Funding Expert who can lead our EU related business development efforts, identify relevant programs and secure funding for research projects by closely interacting with our research teams. Your primary responsibility will be to support the acquisition, management, and implementation of EU-funded projects and to manage any activities and events related to EU funding programs. Importantly, your responsibility will also include the management of the LIST strategy in the context of EU funding (coordination with EU programs, alignment with EU research policies, participation in European fora (Technology Platforms, European networks,..) of relevance for LIST, improved visibility of LIST research and technology, liaising with national contact points, etc.). You will report directly to the head of the Project Support Office.
As Specialist for EU fundings, you will coordinate LIST’s EU programs related business development. Your key responsibilities and main tasks include:
· Responsibility for LIST strategy:
- Define and implement a dedicated strategy to improve the EU funding in LIST activities
- Identify and anticipate key EU project calls that fit the LIST strategy and its assets
- Improve the positioning of LIST in the EU research policy
- Develop and maintain relationships with EU funding programs, partner organizations (especially RTOs), and other stakeholders in the research community influencing the EU agenda
· Support and advice for LIST teams (in collaboration with funding specialists, administrative project managers, technology specialists, business developers):
- Provide guidance notes on specific Programs
- Strongly support the PIs for setting up strong consortia and for reinforcing the quality and consistency of proposals (participate in proposal reviews, writing of dedicated sections (impact section, dissemination plan, ….)
- Support the start of granted EU projects (preparation of grant agreement, etc.)
- Supporting policy efforts within projects by drafting policy recommendations and advocating policy goals of the organization; implementation of best practices
- Offering informative services, mentoring and coaching sessions to the LIST team
· Visibility:
- Represent and effectively defend LIST in strategic positioning initiatives and influencing bodies
- Support the organization of LIST events
- Leveraging an extensive network of contacts within industries and research organizations to identify new funding opportunities. Liaise with national contact points.

Education
- A master or a PhD Degree in Engineering/Science or a related field, with strong project management skills.
- Having an MBA is a plus.
Experience and skills
- Deep knowledge of EU funding programs (e.g. Horizon, ERC, EIC, MSCA, EDA) mostly in the clusters of Digital, Industry, Defense and Space; Climate, Energy and Mobility; Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment.
- Proven experience in managing EU-funded international projects, project development, project acquisition, consortium building, and proposal writing.
- Good knowledge of EU affairs, rules, regulations, policies, and processes.
- Excellence in technology and market impact analysis
- Good understanding of Intellectual Property (IP) management.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within research and technology organizations.
