Research Fellow - Evidence Synthesis Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Fellow to lead innovative initiatives in the synthesis of health and medical research. If you have expertise in modern tools and frameworks for conducting comprehensive literature reviews and a vision for leveraging AI-assisted technologies, this position is your opportunity to shape the future of evidence synthesis.


Key Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and oversee systematic reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, and other types of evidence syntheses.

• Employ advanced methodologies to assess the quality of studies, evaluate risks of bias, and synthesize findings.

• Develop and apply strategies for leveraging tools such as Rayyan, TERA, Covidence, Cochrane Collaboration tools, Search Refiner, and other systematic review accelerators.

• Explore and implement AI and machine learning-assisted tools to streamline and enhance literature review workflows.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify research priorities and align evidence synthesis with the center’s goals.

• Provide mentorship and training to students, junior researchers and staff in systematic review methodologies and modern tools.

• Participate in the dissemination of research findings through traditional academic channels such as peer-reviewed publications and conferences, as well as public-facing channels including websites, videos, infographics, and other media tailored to diverse audiences.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and frameworks to maintain the unit’s leadership in secondary research innovation.


Ideal Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• A Ph.D. or equivalent in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Sciences, or a related field.

• Demonstrated expertise in conducting systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and other secondary research methodologies.

• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, showcasing skills in evidence synthesis.


Skills & Competences

• Proficiency with tools like Rayyan, TERA, Covidence, Search Refiner, or other relevant software for systematic reviews.

• Experience with Cochrane Collaboration methods and risk-of-bias assessment frameworks.

• Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in literature synthesis, including text-mining tools and data automation platforms.

• Competence in managing large datasets and bibliographic references with software such as EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley.

• Analytical rigor and attention to detail in evaluating study quality and synthesizing evidence.

• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects concurrently.

• Excellent communication skills to present findings to diverse stakeholders and publish high-quality reports.

• A collaborative mindset, capable of working with interdisciplinary teams across health domains.
