Your challenges during the Internship

In this 6-month internship, you will work on an exciting project to collect and analyze data on bike routes, focusing on road safety and environmental health. The ultimate goal is to build a TCS community-driven platform tailored for urban cyclists—a solution similar to Komoot but uniquely designed to address safety and usability for city riders. You will have access to TCS and partner traffic datasets to kickstart the project.

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyze data on urban bike routes, identifying key safety and environmental factors
  • Algorithm Development: Develop algorithms to rate bike roads based on safety, usability, and health-related metrics
  • Community Collaboration: Engage with the cycling community to validate data, gather real-world feedback, and ensure platform relevance
  • Prototyping & Testing: Use design thinking to create and test prototypes, iterating based on user feedback
  • Technical Definition: Define and document the technical architecture of the solution
  • Interface Development: Develop a user-friendly application interface to deliver the collected insights and tools to cyclists
  • Validation & Testing: Collaborate with bike mechanics and urban cyclists to validate safety diagnostics and platform features
  • MVP Creation: Build and test a minimum viable product (MVP), gathering user feedback for continuous improvement

This Will Help You Get Started

  • A strong passion for cycling and familiarity with navigating urban bike routes
  • Understanding of design thinking methodology for prototyping and testing solutions
  • Skills in software engineering and programming to develop algorithms and tools
  • Interest in AI and data science, particularly for analyzing and improving urban mobility
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to engage with user communities for insights and feedback

You’ll enjoy

  • Dynamic work environment
  • Open corporate culture with flat hierarchies
  • Support for further training and professional development
  • Opportunities to assume responsibility and grow
  • Attractive employment conditions and benefits
