Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. By transforming scientific knowledge into technologies, smart data and tools, LIST empowers citizens in their choices, public authorities in their decisions and businesses in their strategies.

Do you want to know more about LIST? Check our website: https://www.list.lu/

How will you contribute?

As part of LIST’s SUSTAIN unit (Environmental Sustainability Assessment and Circularity), the Environmental Policies (EPS) group provides science-based support to the definition and implementation of policies at national and EU level, in particular policies around chemicals, circularity ((de)construction, waste), soil, water and (industrial) installations, as well as regulatory support for RDI at the interface of science, technologies and policies.

As seasoned and knowledgeable R&T engineer, you will contribute to the circular transition to reduce the impacts caused by the extraction and consumption of raw materials, to keep materials in their highest value use for as long as possible, to minimize and efficiently handle waste and to ensure high-quality re-use and recycled materials. You will focus on the built environment and the construction sector, but activities can address also other waste streams.

In this context, you will be mainly in charge of:

·        Leading current activities of the group, e.g. the work with Luxembourgish authorities on the development and implementation of CE policies and the contribution to the Interreg project PREUSE on the re-use of building materials,

·        Contributing with your expertise and experience to other CE related projects of the unit, other policy fields in which the group is active, as well as contributing to knowledge transfer and capacity building activities,

·        Networking with national and international actors in the field and explore options for cooperation.

·        Developing the activities further by (co-)defining and executing new RDI and policy implementation projects via collaborative, national or European funding sources.
