Project Manager – AI Factory (m/f)

Supported by the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking, Luxembourg has been selected to host one of the first European AI Factories. This initiative strengthens the country’s leadership in artificial intelligence by supporting businesses and researchers in adopting AI-driven solutions. The AI Factory focuses on accelerating AI adoption in key sectors such as finance, space, cybersecurity and the green economy. It provides tailored support to enterprises, including startups and SMEs, while leveraging the forthcoming MeluXina-AI supercomputer to offer unparalleled computing power and connectivity.
Luxinnovation, the national innovation agency, is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our AI Factory team. This person will play a key role in managing AI-related projects. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with experience in using AI and managing innovation projects and teams, capable of identifying opportunities to expand Luxembourg’s AI ecosystem internationally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project management: Plan, execute and oversee AI-related ecosystem innovation projects within the AI Factory, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and successful project delivery.
Ecosystem management: Collaborate with the national AI ecosystem, including public authorities, research institutions and company executives to foster collaboration and strategic partnerships, with the aim of ensuring sound management and delivery of flagship projects.
International networking: Identify how innovative AI services, processes and business models delivered by startups, scaleups and tech companies that can be integrated into the Luxembourg ecosystem and how they can contribute to other European AI Factories.
Resource allocation: Coordinate with the MeluXina-AI operations team to optimise the use of AI supercomputing resources for various projects, and support the other project partners.
Risk and performance management: Identify potential risks, propose mitigation strategies and ensure project milestones are met on time and within the resources allocated.
Reporting and communication: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on project progress and key AI market trends for internal and external stakeholders.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in AI, data science, innovation management, computer science, engineering or a related field.
3 to 5 years of experience in project management, ideally in the field of digital and AI innovation. Experience in EU-funded projects is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of AI technologies, industry trends and their impact on businesses and society.
Proven ability to work with international consortia, startups and AI ecosystems to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of French, German or Luxembourgish is a plus.
Ability to assess AI market trends, identify opportunities and propose innovative solutions.
Willingness to explore new AI-driven solutions and emerging business models.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset to identify and seize AI opportunities.
Ability to work effectively in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams.
Comfortable navigating challenges and delivering results under pressure.
