How will you contribute?
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research and Technology Associate to join the AIRA group in the framework of the Luxembourg AI Factory (https://www.aifactory.lu/), co-funded by the Ministry of Digitalization and the European Union. This strategic initiative supports Luxembourg’s AI vision by developing tangible, interoperable, and trusted AI services across key verticals including Cybersecurity, Finance, Green Economy and Space. LIST’s primary focus is on the Green Economy. The candidate will be instrumental in articulating AI Factory services, ensuring cross-vertical integration, leading the definition and maintenance of the project service catalog. Moreover, the candidate will support the LIST AI Factory team on the design and deployment of the AI Technology Watch. The candidate will contribute to the operational and strategic implementation of the project, and contributes directly to LIST’s leadership in responsible AI innovation.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate the definition of AI Factory services, ensuring alignment across verticals and priority focus on the Green Economy vertical.
Support and co-manage project operations in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
Design and implement an AI Technology Watch function to monitor, assess, and catalogue emerging AI solutions.
Coordinate interdisciplinary teams and activities that inform service provision, technology transfer, and strategic foresight.
Contribute to the preparation of proposals and funding acquisition for national and EU RDI initiatives.
Disseminate project results and LIST’s AI capabilities through publications, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
Together with the group leader, co-supervise the work junior researchers and engineers, providing mentorship and direction.
Engage actively in national and international scientific, industrial, and policy networks to enhance the visibility and impact of LIST.
Support the group in the acquisition of new projects and collaborations.

Education
PhD degree in Computer Science or related field, with at least 3–4 years in RDI.
Experience and skills in
Experience in work package leadership, proposal writing, and/or supervision of junior staff.
Expertise in AI services, regulatory frameworks, and sustainable digital innovation.
Expertise in the key trends in AI tools, technologies and frameworks.
Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience contributing to EU-funded research projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, DIGITAL, DEP).
Hands-on experience with implementing AI models in the context of RDI projects
Experience in HPC environments
Experience with MLOps, model deployment, or scalable data pipelines.
Understanding of ethical AI principles, explainability, and regulatory compliance (e.g. AI Act, GDPR).
Interest or experience in standards, auditing, or certification frameworks for AI.
Language skills
Fluent in English. French is an asset.
