How will you contribute?
Developing symbolic reasoning tools to represent and manage normative conflicts in financial regulatory contexts
Designing formal models for normative reasoning and formal and computational argumentation
Contributing to the integration of symbolic methods into a broader hybrid Artificial Intelligence (AI) architecture
Advancing the SERAFIN project (Symbolic and Explainable Regulatory AI for Finance Innovation), which supports reasoning and explanation in complex financial regulatory environments
Shaping cutting-edge research at the intersection of symbolic and hybrid AI, computational law, and financial compliance

Education
A PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field is required.
A background in legal or regulatory domains is highly desirable.
Experience and skills
Preferably at least 3 years of research or industry experience in relevant areas.
Proven expertise in AI and knowledge representation and reasoning (KRR), demonstrated by a strong publication record.
Experience in formal and computational argumentation is a significant asset.
Demonstrated ability to apply AI methods to domains such as law and finance.
Experience in developing hybrid AI systems that integrate symbolic and sub-symbolic approaches.
Track record of conducting application-driven AI research.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in interdisciplinary and multi-partner research environments
Language skills
Fluency in English and French, both oral and written. Other relevant languages are considered to be an asset.
