Reporting to the VP of Sales, Marketing and Training, the Sales Manager Europe will lead a team of specialized territory managers across different countries and define the sales expansion strategy whilst developing a strong network within the glaucoma field and continuing to build and expand the most effective field force.
Responsibilities
SALES
Lead, coach, engage, support and empower the European Sales team to drive and achieve sales target
Define the sales expansion strategy and assign priorities
Ensure optimal sales force training
Set and track sales targets and quotas, manages sales budget
Implement new CRM (SFDC) platform and establish KPI’s to manage individual performance
Drive customer experience and build company’s reputation through the quality of execution
Build the most effective field force globally - both by recruiting direct sales people, developing the team structure, and/or appointing independent distributors.
MARKET KNOWLEDGE
Acquire and/or develop a sound knowledge of the Ophthalmic Device space, understanding the market dynamics
Gain excellent command of product performance and unmet clinical needs
Develop strong network with key opinion leaders within glaucoma space
Fuel reimbursement tracking process for MIGS in major markets
Fuels Competitive Intelligence tracking process
Translate Marketing strategies into actionable sales strategies and tactics
STRATEGIC and GENERAL
Work in synergy with company functional leads
Own all aspects the sales team leadership, from recruitment to onboarding, performance management, development and retention
Reviews and analyses activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives, makes and implements recommendations for improvement
Develop and prepare short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives in close collaboration with the finance
Profile
Master’s Degrees in Finance, Marketing or Business Administration
Fluent in English and German
Other European languages are a plus
Professional Experience
Demonstrated successful sales record of 8+ years in Medical Device industry
(Class II B or III) as individual contributor or team lead
Successfully led sales teams for 4+ years
Experienced in developing repeat business from customer base and gaining market share in crowded markets
Experience in ophthalmology is a strong plus
Successful track record in multiple-layer people management is a strong plus
