Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. By transforming scientific knowledge into technologies, smart data and tools, LIST empowers citizens in their choices, public authorities in their decisions and businesses in their strategies : https://www.list.lu/
The internship takes place within the development of a Local Digital Twin (LDT) platform aimed at supporting smart city applications. The platform integrates heterogeneous data sources (cadastral data, public datasets, weather services, traffic and environmental sensors, utility telemetry, etc.) into a common operational framework. This requires building robust data pipelines, event-driven infrastructures, and semantic interoperability mechanisms based on NGSI-LD and Smart Data Models.
How will you contribute?
The trainee will be exposed to state-of-the-art practices in data engineering, interoperability standards, and smart city digital twin applications, gaining hands-on experience in both back-end and full-stack development.
Responsabilitites :
· Develop and maintain data pipelines to integrate cadastral information, public datasets (e.g. data.public.lu), weather feeds, and sensor telemetry (traffic, gas, water, electricity, environment).
· Map heterogeneous datasets into a common structure, ensuring semantic interoperability using NGSI-LD and Smart Data Models
· Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across sources and operational databases.
· Apply good data management practices (metadata, documentation, versioning, validation).
· Contribute to the ingestion and processing of data into the LDT operational databases and event infrastructure.
· Develop new features related to dataset integration and management on the LDT platform (full stack).
