How will you contribute?

HfO2-based thin films changed the way we think about ferroelectrics. This silicon-compatible and environmentally friendly material pushed the limits of ferroelectricity down to nanometre scales and revived the technology of ferroelectric memories. Nonetheless, piezoelectric applications remain underdeveloped. In this project, we will assess hafnia-based piezoelectric resonators for GHz-range applications. You will be mainly in charge of:

•clean-room fabrication of resonator structures,

•ferroelectric and piezoelectric characterization,

•resonators testing using Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).

Education

•PhD in materials science, physics or similar.

Experience and Skills

•Excellent experimentalist, possible to work on an interdisciplinary project linking fabrication, materials characterization and device testing. Extensive experience with clean room processes and testing of resonators is required.  

•Enjoy working in an international team. Solid track of communication skills, such as oral presentations at conferences and scientific paper writing.  

Language skills

• Fluency in English, both oral and written.
