The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a Research and Technology Organization (RTO) active in the fields of materials, environment and IT. How will you contribute?
The work will consist in the following tasks, that will be all done in collaboration with researchers and engineers in LIST:
- Implement a software platform for cognitive and human digital twins, from the integration of existing software components build independently. The architecture of the platform will follow the existing design, based on the following technologies:
o Backend: Node.js microservices exposing REST APIs
o Frontend: different frontends (HMIs) including an Angular PWA, dashboards and a recommender system.
o Platform: orchestration around FIWARE (NGSI-LD) for semantic data management
o Infrastructure: containerization and orchestration (Docker / Kubernetes)
- Implement a demonstrator of the platform where a human learns how to operate a CNC machine with the help of a social robot, through the digital twins and interfaces. This includes:
o Defining a learning scenario for the application case, involving human and robot collaboration for operating the machine
o Program the CNC machine and the robot for the scenario and connect them to the platform
o Participate in the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence algorithms and the enhancement of the recommender system.

Education
Master’s degree in progress, in Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence
Experience and skills
Basic programming knowledge: JavaScript / TypeScript / Python / Java
Frontend fundamentals: HTML, CSS, basic Angular concepts
Backend fundamentals: REST APIs
Understanding of microservices architecture
Familiarity with data formats: JSON, JSON-LD
Basic knowledge of version control: Git
Curiosity to learn about: containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), IoT platform (FIWARE)
Problem-solving mindset and willingness to explore new tools and frameworks
Good software architecture skills
Experience with Robot programming (ROS)
Comfortable working in a team but also in autonomy
Proactive and independent skill set with the ability to take initiative
Language skills
Good command of English
