As Data Protection Officer (DPO) (freelance), you are the independent supervisor in the field of privacy and data protection within our organisation. You ensure that we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and provide solicited and unsolicited advice on privacy issues. You act as a sparring partner for management, employees and external supervisors.
Your role as DPO:
· Monitoring compliance with the GDPR and related laws and regulations
· Advising on privacy policy and procedures
· Supervising and assessing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
· Acting as a point of contact for the Data Protection Authority
· Handling and supervising privacy requests and complaints from data subjects
· Increasing privacy awareness within the organisation (training & advice)
· Reporting to management on privacy risks and areas for improvement
Your profile:
· Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with the GDPR
· Relevant education (e.g. law, IT, security of privacy)
· Analytical, independent and strong communication skills in Dutch and French
· Able to translate complex legal advice into practical terms
· Affinity with the construction sector is an advantage
