The Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) is in charge of the development of the Luxembourg space sector. It is responsible of representing Luxembourg in international organizations such as the European Space Agency (ESA), and for space-related matters at the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN). In close cooperation with other public and private actors, the LSA is also supporting bilateral relations between Luxembourg and other countries, e.g. in the frame of official visits and economic missions.
As part of our development, we are recruiting a:
Analyst/Manager - Space Applications Adoption
(Permanent contract, m/f)
The position focuses on facilitating the adoption of space-based solutions within key strategic non-space sectors, and on strengthening Luxembourg’s role in European initiatives and governance frameworks supporting the adoption of space applications.
Your main missions
Contribute to the definition and implementation of a cross-sector adoption strategy for space solutions
Support the uptake of space solutions across priority strategic sectors, with an initial focus on the finance and insurance sectors
Act as an interface between space and non-space stakeholders
Manage relations with a portfolio of Luxembourgish companies and public research organizations in various space and non-space-related domains and facilitate collaboration opportunities at the national and international level.
Represent Luxembourg in relevant European boards, committees, and working groups in coordination with the competent Ministries and other organisations
Identify, monitor, and participate in key non-space industry conferences and events to promote the adoption of space-based solutions.
Your profile
You hold an Engineering or Scientific Master’s degree with at least 3 years of professional experience, preferably in the space downstream sector, including experience in the application of space technologies within non-space industrial or institutional contexts.
The position will involve travelling abroad (20-25%), sometimes on short notice, and therefore requires a certain degree of flexibility and availability.
Furthermore, you show the following competencies:
Interest and experience in a broad range of technologies and concepts applied in the downstream space industry
Experience gained in a non-space organization leveraging space-based data or services, in particular in the domains of finance and insurance, is considered a strong asset.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel, with a results-driven approach, along with strong interpersonal and writing skills
Strong analytical mindset with ability to formulate advanced concepts, understand different topics in detail and synthesize quickly
Experience in the thematic of earth observation is an asset
Experience in analyzing business plans and understanding company financials
Awareness of institutional and commercial space markets is an asset
Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is mandatory; the knowledge of German and Luxembourgish are a plus.
