How will you contribute?
We are looking for a recognised business development professional active in the domain of Manufacturing, familiar with challenges related to digitalization of industry, Industrial AI and Sustainable Industrial Systems, capable of bridging advanced research in AI (including Large Language Models and data-driven optimisation) with concrete industrial deployment.
A profile comfortable with the challenges faced by industries in their transition towards Manufacturing 4.0, through the incorporation of LLM / AI tools for optimisation of industrial processes, resource efficiency and energy consumption, in view of decarbonisation and competitiveness, would strongly complement the team’s expertise.
You will work with autonomy under limited oversight on missions related to the creation of business and partnership opportunities to boost LIST’s RDI activities in:
AI-driven industrial optimisation
Smart manufacturing and digital twins
Industrial data spaces and interoperable systems
Energy efficiency and process electrification
Decarbonation strategies and circular production models
You will balance both a technology push and market pull approach, proactively identifying national and international business, partnership and collaboration opportunities in close coordination with RDI teams working across AI, digitalisation, materials and environmental domains.
As a transversal AI contributor, you will help position Artificial Intelligence, including LLM-based decision-support systems, predictive maintenance, process modelling and optimisation algorithms, as a strategic enabler across multiple industrial sectors (manufacturing, energy-intensive industries, built environment, logistics, etc.).
Your key responsibilities among others include:
Working with autonomy under limited oversight on tasks and missions related to business development and the creation and management of partnerships for RDI projects in Industrial AI and Manufacturing 4.0.
Conducting structured market prospection to identify industrial partners facing digitalisation, optimisation or decarbonation challenges; evaluating feasibility and impact of collaborations; supporting RDI teams in selecting suitable public and/or private partners aligned with project goals.
Coordinating discussions and negotiations to engage strategic industrial collaborations (e.g., large groups, SMEs, technology providers, energy actors). Developing and negotiating partnership agreements, including collaboration terms, IP strategy, financial arrangements and performance expectations. Managing the agreements’ formalisation procedures with legal and administrative teams.
Acting in support of RDI teams in project contractualization and ensuring alignment between research objectives, industrial constraints and funding frameworks (national and European).
Translating market and regulatory trends (e.g., decarbonisation targets, energy efficiency directives, industrial data regulations) into actionable RDI initiatives and matching LIST’s AI and digital assets to concrete industrial needs.
Coordinating with internal operational and research teams (AI, data science, materials, energy, environmental assessment) to ensure successful integration and execution of partnership initiatives.
Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of partnership activities and agreements for legal compliance and strategic follow-up.
Contributing to the dissemination and promotion of LIST’s RDI activity by organising or participating in national and international events, industrial fairs, digital transformation forums and AI conferences. Presenting and promoting LIST’s Industrial AI and Manufacturing 4.0 capabilities to stakeholders.
Nurturing European networking activities in the fields of Industrial AI, Smart Manufacturing and Decarbonised Industry, leveraging existing LIST initiatives and contributing to transversal AI positioning.
