Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a leading Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) that drives innovation for the economy and society in Luxembourg and beyond. With cutting-edge expertise in Natural, Built, Industrial environments, Space, AI, Security and defence technologies. LIST bridges scientific excellence and applied research to design solutions that address real-world challenges and create positive impact.
The selected applicant will join Environmental Sustainability Assessment and Circularity (SUSTAIN) Unit. The SUSTAIN Unit develops knowledge, transferable technologies, and practical methods for the integrative evaluation and management of the sustainability and toxicological risks of human-driven systems. Its ultimate purpose is to foster sustainable, technology-driven eco-innovation in industry and to support sustainability-oriented policy making.
Within the SUSTAIN Unit, the applicant will be integrated into the Environmental Health (EH) research group. The EH group contributes to sustainability by developing complex 3D in vitro models for toxicological testing as a major research activity. These models undergo in-house pre-validation under laboratory conditions and are applied to a wide range of contaminants, from chemicals to nanomaterials. They are then deployed within nationally and internationally funded research projects and in collaborative research projects with industry, notably in support of the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) concept.
The EH group operates state-of-the-art human toxicology and eco-toxicology laboratory facilities — the Tox & Eco-tox Lab — in which this position is embedded. The technician will provide essential laboratory support across both the human tox and eco-tox workspaces, contributing directly to the quality and continuity of the group's research activities.
