How will you contribute?
You will be mainly in charge of:
Leading and conducting R&D activities on the development of bio‑based cellulosic materials, including processing approaches based on deep eutectic solvents (DES).
Designing, planning, and executing research tasks or work packages within collaborative RDI projects, ensuring high‑quality results and timely delivery.
Developing innovative polymeric materials concepts, including, but not only, plant‑based fillers when relevant.
Evaluating, selecting, and applying appropriate scientific and engineering methods, protocols, and analytical techniques for the development and characterization of materials.
Improving existing processes, tools, or experimental methodologies related to bio‑based material processing and sustainable solvent systems
Coordinating and supervising the work of junior researchers, PhD students, or engineers involved in the projects.
Contributing to the preparation of research proposals and funding applications in national and European programmes and supporting collaborations with industrial and academic partners.
Disseminating research outcomes through technical reports, scientific publications, project presentations, and participation in international conferences and networks.

Education
PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Biomass Processing, or a related field, with strong knowledge of cellulose‑based or bio‑based materials
Experience and skills
At least 1–2 years of experience in Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) after PhD degree.
Experience leading research tasks or work packages and working autonomously to deliver results within expected timelines.
Expertise in bio‑based polymeric materials, particularly cellulosic fillers or lignocellulosic materials.
Experience with deep eutectic solvents (DES) or other green solvent systems for biomass or polymer processing.
Strong knowledge of materials synthesis, processing and characterization techniques.
Experience in developing and optimizing material formulations, processes, or prototypes.
Knowledge of porous materials, aerogels, or advanced lightweight materials is considered an asset.
Ability to contribute to research proposals, technical reports, and scientific publications.
Strong project management and organizational skills, including planning and resource management.
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication and presentation skills for scientific and technical audiences.
Ability to supervise or mentor junior researchers and coordinate research activities.
Language skills
Fluency in English, both oral and written. Other relevant languages are an asset.
