How will you contribute?
Among other responsibilities, you will:
· In coordination with the group leader, contribute to further development of the group’s expertise in modern biochemical analyses of fungal enzymes
· Perform innovative fundamental and applied research within and beyond the PEARL project
· Develop innovative new research proposals in collaboration with the group leader.
· (co-)Supervise and train PhD students, postdocs and undergraduate students of the group.
· Write publications on your research and contribute to publications of the other group members
· Promote and represent the group to both academic and industrial stake-holders

Education
• PhD in biochemistry or biotechnology
Experience and skills
• Post-doctoral experience in biochemistry and/or biotechnology
• Strong expertise in enzyme kinetics, metabolic pathway analysis and/or plant biomass degrading enzymes
• Experience with Alphafold and other methods for structural analysis of enzymes
• Experience with writing proposals and obtaining funding is an asset
• Experience with fungi and/or fungal enzymes is an asset
• Experience in supervising undergraduate students
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Language skills
• Strong knowledge of English (both spoken and written) is required.

This position offers a gross monthly salary between €6093 and €7409, paid over 13 months (€79.209–€96.317 annually) based on full‑time employment. The final salary offer within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s overall profile, qualifications and professional experience.
For part‑time employment, the salary is adjusted pro rata.
