Role overview
atHomeGroup is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen our Data & AI capabilities, with a primary focus on our marketplaces.
You will help us build reliable, scalable and well-structured data foundations that support business analytics, product decisions and AI-enabled capabilities.
This is a hands-on role combining data engineering, data modelling and close collaboration with Product, Technology and business teams.
You will have the opportunity to work on meaningful marketplace data and contribute to the continued evolution of our data platform.
Your responsibilities
Build and maintain data pipelines
Design, develop and maintain reliable ETL/ELT pipelines.
Integrate data from transactional systems, APIs and external sources.
Improve the reliability, freshness and performance of our data flows.
Contribute to the evolution of our analytical data platform.
Structure and model data
Transform raw data into clean, reusable and well-documented datasets.
Design appropriate analytical data models.
Support historical and time-based analysis.
Help establish consistent definitions for key business entities and metrics.
Improve data quality
Implement data-quality checks and monitoring.
Investigate inconsistencies and data issues.
Document transformations, lineage and business rules.
Contribute to data governance and data catalogue initiatives.
Support analytics and products
Work closely with Product, Sales and other business teams to understand their data needs.
Make data easily accessible for reporting, analysis and operational decision-making.
Support the development of data-driven product capabilities.
Help ensure that business metrics are reliable and consistently understood.
Prepare our data for AI
AI is becoming an increasingly important part of our technology landscape.
You will contribute to making trusted company data usable by AI-enabled applications and internal tools while ensuring appropriate quality, governance and security.
Apply strong engineering practices
We expect data engineering to follow the same quality principles as software engineering: version control; testing; code reviews; monitoring and observability; automated deployments where appropriate; documentation; maintainable and reproducible solutions.
What we are looking for
Essential skills
Strong SQL skills.
Professional experience with Python.
Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
Good understanding of analytical data modelling.
Experience with orchestration technologies such as Airflow or equivalent.
Experience integrating databases, APIs and external data sources.
Understanding of data quality and monitoring.
Comfortable with Git and modern engineering practices.
Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
AI / LLM-related data use cases.
Search and analytics engine – ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
Nice to have
PostgreSQL.
BigQuery.
AWS data services.
Message queuing – RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS or equivalent
Marketplace or e-commerce data.
Digital analytics.
High-volume or historical datasets.
Data catalogues and governance.
BI platforms.
APIs and data services.
Agentic AI workflows.
Automotive-sector experience is welcome but not required.
