Deputy Flight Operations Manager (Rotary Wing) (m/f)

About Us

Since 1988, Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) has been recognised leader in air rescue and air ambulance services. Supported by more than 180,000 members and a team of over 190 dedicated professionals, we operate 6 rescue helicopters and 5 air ambulance jets, carrying out more than 3,000 missions every year.

 

To support the continued development of our Rotary Wing operations, as part of the LAR Group, Luxembourg Air Services (LAS) is looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Flight Operations Manager (Rotary Wing) (m/f).

 

In this key leadership role, you will support the Flight Operations Manager and act as deputy to the Nominated Person Flight Operations (NPFO), helping to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient helicopter operations.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

·         Support the day-to-day management and oversight of Rotary Wing flight operations.

·         Monitor operational performance and ensure compliance with EASA regulations, company procedures, and safety standards.

·         Participate in safety investigations, risk assessments, audits, and corrective actions.

·         Contribute the development and maintenance of Operations Manuals, SOPs, checklists, and operational instructions.

·         Support pilot standardisation, competency assessments, and training initiatives.

·         Monitor regulatory developments and ensure ongoing compliance.

·         Assume delegated authority for flight operations in the absence of the Flight Operations Manager.

 

What You Bring

Essential

·         Valid or previously held CPL(H) or ATPL(H).

·         Minimum 5 years of helicopter operational experience.

·         Significant HEMS experience.

·         Experience in an operational leadership or management role.

·         SMS and Human Factors training.


Preferred

·         Experience as Chief Pilot, Base Manager, or Deputy Flight Operations Manager.

·         Experience with EASA and/or National Aviation Authority audits.

·         Good knowledge of EU Regulation 965/2012, Part-ORO, Part-CAT, Part-SPA (HEMS, NVIS, HHO), Part-SPO, SERA, and Safety Management Systems.
