IT Project Manager
What will you do?
As IT Project Manager, you will lead digital projects that improve how BDO Luxembourg works: business applications, collaboration and workflow solutions, data and AI use cases. You will work closely with business sponsors, product owners, IT teams and external partners to deliver solutions that are adopted by users and bring measurable value, on time, within budget and in a secure way.
· Lead projects end to end, from business case and scoping to delivery, adoption and benefits tracking in close cooperation with the CIO Office, using the delivery approach that fits each project: agile, waterfall or hybrid.
· Work with business sponsors and product owners to clarify objectives, define measurable success criteria (KPIs/OKRs) and prioritise scope around business value.
· Plan and steer delivery through roadmaps, releases and sprints or milestones, keeping scope, budget, timeline and quality under control.
· Lead cross-functional teams of business, IT and external partners (SaaS vendors, integrators, consultants), and manage their contracts, SLAs and deliverables.
· Facilitate workshops to capture and challenge requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and favour standard, configurable SaaS and low-code solutions over custom development.
· Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and changes (RAID), and escalate with clear options when decisions are needed.
· Embed security, data protection (GDPR), privacy by design and responsible AI principles from the start, in close cooperation with the CISO, the DPO and Risk.
· Drive change management and adoption: stakeholder engagement, communication, training and support for end users.
· Coordinate testing (including user acceptance testing), go-live readiness and the handover to IT operations according to ITIL 4 practices.
· Report status, risks and decisions to steering committees and governance bodies through clear, data-driven status reports and dashboards, using our existing tools and templates (e.g. Wrike, Power BI).
· Keep project information up to date in our project and portfolio management tools (e.g. Wrike) and use AI assistants to save time on reporting, documentation and analysis.
· Close projects properly, measure the benefits delivered and share lessons learned to continuously improve our delivery practices.
This offer is for you if
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field.
· At least 3 years of experience in IT project management, ideally within an IT department or a professional services firm.
· Solid experience in at least one of agile (Scrum, Kanban) or waterfall project approaches, working knowledge of the other, and the judgement to tailor them to each context.
· A recognised certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 / PRINCE2 Agile, Professional Scrum Master or SAFe is an advantage; ITIL 4 Foundation is a plus.
· Experience delivering SaaS and cloud solutions (ideally in a Microsoft 365 / Azure environment) and managing vendors and integrators.
· Working knowledge of data, integration (APIs), security and data protection requirements, ideally in a regulated or confidentiality-sensitive environment.
· Practical experience with collaborative work management tools (e.g. Wrike, Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Planner);familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI is an advantage.
· Curiosity for AI and automation, and day-to-day use of AI assistants in your work.
· Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, from end users to partners and management.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to handle complex and ambiguous situations.
· Highly organised, pragmatic and outcome-oriented, able to manage several projects and priorities at the same time.
· Fluent in French and English; German or Luxembourgish is an asset.
