How will you contribute?
As part of the Biotechnology Unit, and particularly the Bioformulation Group, you will contribute to the machine learning assisted structure-function study of soluble dietary fibres (galactomannans) isolated from underexplored leguminous seed bioresources in the framework of the ENTANGLE FNR funded project. You will develop clean label procedures to extract and isolate galactomannans from forage legume seed biomass such as alfalfa and clover. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to determine the technofunctional and prebiotic potential of native and enzymatically modified derivatives benchmarked to commercial biopolymer targets.
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will mainly be responsible for:
Extracting, isolating and purifying galactomannans from forage legume seeds
Enzymatically tailor the chemical structure and technofunctional profile of native galactomannans
Determine the structure conformational, technological and prebiotic potential of the native and modified galactomannans and
Promoting and disseminating your research work through high-quality scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, oral and poster presentations in conferences, and patents.

Education
PhD in Food Science or Chemical Engineering, experience in Food Biopolymers, and Food Colloids characterisation is mandatory
Experience and skills
Soft Skills: Excellent organisational and research project management skills, good team player, passionate about science
Language skills
Fluency in English, both oral and written is mandatory. Other relevant languages are an asset.

This position offers a gross monthly salary between €6094 and €6679, paid over 13 months (€79.222–€86.827 annually) based on full‑time employment. The final salary offer within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s overall profile, qualifications and professional experience .
For part‑time employment, the salary is adjusted pro rata.
