About Novastone Partners
Novastone Partners AG is an independent investment platform focused on operator-led buyouts in the European lower-middle market. The firm combines institutional capital with entrepreneurial operating talent to acquire and scale small and mid-sized businesses, with a strong focus on succession-driven transactions and long-term value creation.
The Role
Novastone Partners AG is seeking a highly experienced VP Capital Formation Expert to lead capital raising and investor engagement across the firm's fund and co-investment vehicles, with primary emphasis on single- and multi-family office relationships, complemented by select institutional and UHNWI capital.
This position requires a seasoned professional with a deeply rooted, trusted network within the family office and private wealth community, who can independently originate, manage, and close capital commitments. The role is critical to scaling the firm's investment platform and strengthening its positioning among family offices and institutional allocators alike.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Investor Relations
Lead the end-to-end fundraising process across funds, co-investments, and tailored investment structures
Develop and execute capital raising strategies with family offices as the primary channel, complemented by pension funds, asset managers, and UHNWIs together with the existing team
Build, maintain, and expand long-term, trust-based relationships with key principals and decision-makers
Manage investor interactions across the full lifecycle: origination → engagement → due diligence → commitment → closing
Prepare and refine fundraising materials (pitch decks, private placement memoranda, investor reports) to institutional-grade standard together with the existing team
Network-Driven Capital Origination
Actively leverage and monetize an existing, high-quality family office and private wealth network
Generate a high-conviction investor pipeline based on trust, credibility, and established relationships
Position Novastone Partners as a preferred investment partner within relevant family office and private wealth circles
Business Development & Strategy
Identify and develop new investor segments and strategic partnerships
Contribute to the structuring and positioning of investment vehicles, including fund terms, GP/LP economics, and co-investment structures
Monitor market trends and investor demand within private equity and alternative assets
Represent the firm at investor meetings, conferences, and roadshows
Candidate Profile
Network & Market Credibility (critical requirement)
Established, active, and trusted network of family offices and private wealth principals, complemented by institutional relationships
Direct access to key decision-makers (family office principals/CIOs, Investment Heads, Portfolio Managers)
Recognized as a credible and trusted partner within the family office and private wealth community
Demonstrated ability to convert relationships into committed capital
Experience & Credentials
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in fundraising, private equity, asset management, or investment banking
Fluency in fund economics and structuring — GP/LP terms, carried interest waterfalls, management fee mechanics, and DPI/TVPI/IRR reporting — sufficient to engage sophisticated allocators and their advisors on structure, not just narrative
Track record of capital raised across multiple fund vintages or co-investment cycles, with the ability to speak concretely to aggregate amounts raised, number of closings, and typical check size
Familiarity with cross-border marketing considerations relevant to a Swiss-based platform raising across Europe (e.g., AIFMD national private placement regimes) is an advantage
Capabilities
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; ability to distill complex deal theses and fund economics into a compelling, defensible narrative for sophisticated allocators and their gatekeepers
Strong commercial mindset with a high degree of ownership and execution focus
Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and results-oriented
What We Offer
A high-impact role within a growing investment platform, with primary responsibility for its capital formation strategy
Direct influence on the firm's fundraising success and strategic development
Collaboration with experienced investors and entrepreneurs
Performance-driven compensation structured around base compensation plus a capital-raised override and/or carried interest participation (final structure to be discussed directly with candidates)
Success Criteria
Total capital raised (commitments secured)
Quality and depth of investor relationships, particularly within the family office channel
Conversion rate of investor pipeline
Contribution to successful fund closings and LP re-up rates on subsequent vehicles
Key Statement
This role requires an individual who is already perceived as a trusted gateway to capital — particularly within the family office community — and can effectively translate this trust into successful fundraising outcomes.
